Day 2 of Juicing: Healthy Digestion Juice

This juice is excellent in enhancing a healthy digestive system and to assist the body in elimination.

Pineapple contains bromelain, a protein digesting enzyme that is excellent for heart burn and indigestion. Bromelain is commonly used in Europe as an anti-inflammatory supplement. Sufferers with digestive problem, arthritis, and sinusitis have found relief through it.

Lemon juice is beneficial in stimulating the salivary and gastric secretions. (see my article on the many benefits of lemons)

Apple juice contains pectin, which aids in digestion and also prevents constipation. The pectin binds with water forming a gel, softening the stool and also binding with the toxins removing them.

Ginger has been used for centuries to prevent and treat indigestion, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, motion sickness and nausea including morning sickness.

Ingredients:

  • 2 green apples (I used granny smiths)
  • ¼ cup chopped pineapple
  • ½ lemon
  • ½ inch ginger

Directions:

Wash and chop fruits and ginger to fit in your juicer feed. Juice early in the day or midday in order to get as much juice as possible. Serve immediately or store in a tight fitting glass jar.
