This recipe is definitely a winner. They can be made in larger quantities and they freeze well. Black beans may be substituted with kidney beans. Also pecans, almonds and cashew may be used instead of walnuts. This recipe can be modified to use the herbs that you like. Serve with burger buns and garnishes or with your favorite gravy and mashed potatoes. Enjoy!

4 cups water

4 cups quick cooking oats

½ cup coconut aminos, bragg’s liquid aminos or soy sauce

1 cup cooked crack wheat or bulghar

1 cup chopped walnuts

½ cup cooked black bean

¼ cup nutritional yeast flakes (optional)

1 tsp onion powder

1tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp Italian seasoning

Bring water to boil in a saucepan, remove from heat then add bragg’s liquid aminos, coriander, onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir in oats and the remaining ingredients and mix well. Using a large canning jar lid and rim form patties and place in a lightly oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 mins, turn over, then bake for another 15 mins. You may also cook in a lightly oiled skillet on both sides.
