Gluten-Free Tofu Nuggets


These tofu nuggets are a winner in my home, my children like them with barbecue sauce or ketchup. They are definitely great crowd pleaser and a good way to introduce tofu to those who are unfamiliar. You can substitute the brown rice flour with cornstarch.



  • 1 lb extra firm tofu
  • 1 Tbs braggs liquid aminos or soy sauce

This is the marinated tofu.

  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1/4 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
  • pinch celery seed


Press tofu between paper towels to remove excess water. Then cut in strips or cubes and marinate with soy sauce and set aside.

In another bowl combine the remaining ingredients well. Coat tofu with dry mix and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes turning halfway. You may also cook on a lightly oiled frying pan until golden and crispy.
