Its almost a year now since I made this smoothie and I decided to modify the recipe. I added 1 teaspoon of psyllium husk.

Psyllium seed husks are super absorbent and high in fiber, they contain both soluble and insoluble fiber. They have the ability to absorb ten times their weight in water. As the husks expand, they are able scrub the walls of the intestines and carry toxins out of the body. This is why psyllium seed husks are used as over-the-counter laxatives, stool-bulking agents and in colon cleansing kits. Psyllium seed husks have been proven to be effective in treating irritable bowel syndrome, colon cancer, diabetes, reducing cholesterol levels, alleviating diarrhea, constipation, aid digestion and weight loss.
