Would you believe that this smoothie is one of my husband’s favorite? He basically loves smoothies with peanut butter in them. And of course my children enjoy as well. This smoothie tastes just like the famous peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It’s also quick and easy and not to mention gluten free. Although peanut butter does contain fat, it’s way better for you than animal fat. I use natural peanut butter that does not contain all the added ingredients such as sugar, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, mono & diglycerides etc.

If you are able to purchase peanut butter at a store where you actually grind the peanuts yourself that’s the best. This recipe contains no added sweetener, you may use strawberry jam or a fruit juice sweetened jam. I did not use any because I find that the strawberry and the bananas contain enough natural sugar.


  • 1 cup almond milk or other non-dairy milk (see my almond milk recipe)
  • 2 frozen bananas sliced
  • 1 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup strawberries (about 3 strawberries) or 1 Tbsp strawberry jam

In blender

Place ingredients in a high speed blender like Blendtec (its my favorite) for super smooth texture, blend on high. If using a regular blender put milk and strawberries in then blend add banana pieces and peanut butter, process until smooth. Garnish with crushed peanuts and serve.
