Ackee, brought to the Caribbean by slave traders, is a popular, cheap source of protein in Jamaica's national dish.

What About This Dish ?

Ingredients:-

– Jamaican ackee  – Coconut oil  – Onion  – Garlic  – Red bell pepper  – Spring onion  – Thyme – Tomato  – Scotch Bonnet pepper  – Sea salt (to taste)

Sauté vegetables

Heat oil, cook onions until soft, then add garlic and bell pepper.

Add seasoning

Add spring onions, thyme, tomatoes, salt, and Scotch Bonnet pepper and cook for 1 minute.

Add ackee

Add ackee to skillet and stir gently to coat with seasonings.

Simmer

Cover skillet and simmer for 5 minutes.
