What do you do when you have situations looking like the end of the road? Which is easier to do? Find another path or keep on going? I’ll tell you what seems easier to do: switch lanes. Let’s talk about how to stay motivated.

But switching lanes means doing things from the scratch… again.  Think .about all the energy you had to put into getting where you are at that moment. Then, you have to abandon that path and go through the process all over again. Sounds unfair.

Stay motivated and stick to the plan

When The Storms Rage

But on the other hand, going against the tides on the charted course may not be the easiest path either. But you know what? It’s the most assuring path. Why? Because you’ve seen the possibilities and know what to do and how to maneuver. No matter how short your journey has been on that path, you have some experience in certain matters. So, why give that up only to start building from scratch again?

Don’t get me wrong, keeping up and cruising through storms is so much pain. So, how do you go from being a victim to being a victor in a day of adversity?

Make A Stern Decision

Being able to make a decision to continue is the first thing you need to do when you think you’ve reached your wits’ end. There must be a mental agreement before your body can continue. If there is a misalignment between mind and body, nothing can really be achieved.

The Bible says,

Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet? Amos 3:3 ESV

This verse asks the possibility of two walking together without an agreement. It is not just limited to two people but can be two things of any nature. Just as water cannot mix with oil. That’s a reality of two not walking together because they don’t agree. So it is with you as a person. The moment there is a division between what your mind wants to do and what your body wants, you will experience retardation of some sort.

When you want to keep going, you need to make it a decision. You must not allow yourself be confused. Let your mind know what your body wants, and let your body know what your mind wants. There must be synergy within your whole being for you to keep making progress.

Making a good decision is important to making progress. If you need to keep going, you need to know how to decide to keep going. This is a great tool with immense powers to keep you going.

Put God In The System

This is not to sound too religious but the truth is everything we do is spiritual. Our lives are ruled and governed by the principles of the spirit realm. Either God or Satan is involved in every affair of mankind. Knowing this helps us decide where we want to be and who we choose to walk with. I’m sure you’ve made the decision to walk with God.

Making that decision is great and you need to follow it up every day because Satan will come for you. No matter what you’re doing in life, never think it’s too small to have the devil working against you. The chief agendum of Satan is to make your life unusable by God. So, in whatever way he can, he will come. Nothing you do is too small as long as it can glorify God in the long run.

Whether it’s going on a weight loss journey or going on a spiritual journey of fasting and prayers, as long as you are for Christ, Satan will seek to devour you. So, you must be particular about letting God have a say always since you have dedicated your life to Him.

Here’s what Paul the apostle says,

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 ESV

Does your mission tick all or any of these listed above? If it does, then you have the assurance that you are backed by God in your pursuit.

Another word of encouragement comes in this way,

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

Dedicating your struggles to God is the way to go. Tell Him about what you face and the challenges you have. Give Him preeminence as you seek His help to go on. You need God’s help to go through what you must.

Know The Ropes

The place of knowledge cannot be overemphasized. For whatever endeavor you attempt, it would do you well to know the ropes and walk by the rules of engagement.

When you’re facing a tough challenge, you must be diligent enough to investigate if you’re the problem or it’s not with you.

Take weight loss for instance. If you embark on a six-week course and find that things have plateaued at the fourth week. Do you quit or go on to find out what you don’t know in the weeks ahead? The wise thing every person of understanding would do, would be to keep going until they know everything they need to know. In doing this, they get to discover what the cause of the issue is.

This is the place of knowledge. What you don’t know will be the greatest hindrance to your achievements. They say, “Knowledge is power” and this is true. What people who have lost so much weight and are now fit and healthy knew to become so, is exactly what you also need to know to attain your goal.

Know what it takes to go on. Search for knowledge and use it when you find it. What you don’t know today is what will make you better tomorrow.

Surround Yourself With Similar Minds

This is another potent strategy to get you where you want to be. When you have people thinking with the same focus in mind and they’re around you, it’s easier to get up when you fall.

This is what the Bible talks about when it says in Proverbs 27:17 that “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

Surround yourself with friends who are like-minded. When you do so, chances are at least one of them has gone through what you’re going through or has an idea that worked for them in their dark hour.

When you have people who strive for the same goal as you, it’s better for your journey. That’s why schools are divided into classes. It’s also why there are book clubs that read the same book at the same time and gym groups that work out together and monitor their progress. The aim of a group is to have elements that have something in common and can be classified together. A good group will help you grow faster than you would walk alone.

Conclusion

Life is not for the fainthearted. It’s a journey of many variables. It’s like a pendulum that swings through the highest and lowest points interchangeably.

To keep going, you must be motivated beyond your present challenges and gather strength to break through the opposition.

With God on your side, nothing will be impossible to achieve.
