Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 3/4 apple juice
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 teaspoons agave or maple syrup

Cornstarch Slurry

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup water

Instructions

  • Add the dried cranberries, apple juice, cinnamon, and salt to a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce it to a simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Combine ⅓ cup of water with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in a separate cup or bowl to make the cornstarch slurry.
  • Pour the cornstarch slurry into the cranberry sauce while stirring briskly.
  • Stir in 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. orange zest and a teaspoon of lemon juice.
  • Cook this for about 1-2 more minutes, then remove it from the heat.
  • Allow it to cool then transfer it to a sealed container to store in the refrigerator. You can serve it warm if making the day of.
