Flaxseed tea is an herbal tea made from the seeds of the flax plant. The flax plant is a member of the Linaceae family and is native to the Mediterranean region, India, and North Africa. The flax plant has been cultivated for centuries and was used by the ancient Egyptians and Greeks as a medicinal herb.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed
  • 2 cups water
  • sweetener (optional)

Instructions

  • Pour water into a pot and place it over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
  • Turn off the heat and then add flaxseed. Cover the pot with a lid and let it steep for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Once the time is up, strain the tadd sweetener to taste, mix well and serve the tea by passing it through a strainer.
