Ingredients

  • 1 6 oz can of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 clove
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized saucepan, combine tomato paste, water, lemon juice, maple syrup, onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt, clove, cayenne pepper, and salt. Stir until well combined.
  • Place the saucepan on medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens and reduces in volume.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool down to room temperature.
  • Transfer the ketchup to a jar or container and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Your homemade ketchup with maple syrup is ready to enjoy!
