Pecan Butter

Pecan butter is one of those nut butter that is not so widely spoken of, but is rich in nutrients! It is made from pecans which is a native American nut. Most importantly, it is easy to prepare and only requires two simple ingredients - yes, you guessed it… pecans and a bit of sea salt.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pecans
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Method One

  • Place pecans in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Bake at 300˚F for 10-12 minutes, until fragrant and toasted.

Method Two

  • Cook pecans in a skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly until fragrant and toasted.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt (while stirring).

Processing Pecan Butter

  • Place slightly cooled pecans in a food processor and cover with a lid.
  • Process for about 10 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl periodically.
  • Transfer pecan butter to a jar with a tight-fitting lid and store it in the refrigerator.
