Sweet Potato Chips

Sweet potato chips and slightly sweet, savory, and perfectly crispy. These are a great snack and offer a different flavor than your regular chips.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly oil it.
  • Start by peeling the sweet potatoes to remove the skin. Once you have peeled them, wash them thoroughly to get rid of any dirt.
  • Slice them either with a sharp knife, mandoline or with a chips cutter thinly.
  • In a bowl, add potato slices, olive oil, paprika, and salt.
  • Toss until the spices cover the potato slices.
  • Place the slices on the baking sheet.
  • Place the baking tray in a preheated oven at 400-degree F for 30 minutes
  • After 15 minutes into the cook, turn over the slices.
  • Once the chips get a nice golden-brown color, remove them from the oven and let them cool a bit before serving.

  • Start by peeling the sweet potatoes to remove the skin. Once you have peeled them, wash them thoroughly to get rid of any dirt.
  • Slice sweet potatoes with a sharp knife into thin slices or with a mandoline slicer
  • Heat oil in a deep pan set the temperature to 375 degrees F.
  • Once the oil reaches 375 degrees F, start adding sweet potato slices to the oil. Don't overcrowd the fryer. Work in small batches
  • Cook the sweet potato slices for about 40 to 50 seconds on each side and flip them using a fork or with tongs.
  • Remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel to get rid of excess oil.
  • As soon as they crisp up and appear oil-free, transfer them t0 a bowl, sprinkle paprika, and salt on top, and enjoy!
