Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Lightly oil or spray a casserole pan with oil and set aside. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add fresh or thawed green beans and cook until tender, about 6 minutes. Remove from the stove and pour the beans into a colander to drain. Rinse with cold water, drain, and set aside.
Prepare cream sauce, add vegetable broth, cashews, yeast flakes, Bragg's Liquid Aminos, arrowroot, onion powder, garlic and salt to taste. Process until smoth.
Pour the sauce into a large saucepan and cook over medium heat until thick, whisking constantly. Remove from heat and stir in the green beans and 1/2 cup French-fried onions.
Transfer the mixture to a prepared casserole pan. Bake for about 10 minutes, then top with the remaining French-fried onions and bake for 10 more minutes.
