Avocado Lime Mousse
Avocado lime mousse is one of my quick and easy recipe that I love to prepare. I had visitors last weekend and they wanted me to fix a dessert that was easy to make because they were about to leave. So I made my carob mousse recipe and place it in a gluten-free vegan pie crust and voila dessert was ready! It was a huge hit and they all couldn’t believe how simple it was to prepare. If you are pressed for time, this Midel crust is also gluten-free vegan
Well I decided to make a avocado lime mousse instead and it was just as delicious. My son Daevyd has been having allergies for the the past 4 days and he hasn’t been able to spend much time outdoors but today he feels way better so we decided to go by the lake on the property and play with his puppy macho. He wanted to eat his avocado lime mousse outdoor. I use this opportunity to teach Deavyd the foods that are toxic for his dog, he kept asking me what else is bad for his puppy.
Ingredients:
- 1 avocado
- 1/2 cup coconut cream
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 banana
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1 lime zest
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Pinch of sea salt
- Carob chips for garnish
Directions:
Cut avocado lengthwise, separate the two halves. Remove the seed and discard, scoop out the flesh with a spoon and transfer to a food processor or a bowl if using an immersion blender. Add coconut cream, maple syrup, banana and process until smooth. Add lime juice, lime zest, vanilla and sea salt and continue to process until fully combined. Transfer mousse to a bowl and refrigerate until chilled then serve.
Macho trying to get at Daevyd’s mousse but we wouldn’t let him have any because avocados are toxic for dogs. Some other foods that are toxic for dogs are bread dough, chocolate, grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, moldy foods, onions, garlic, milk or other dairy products, candy, gums, persimmons, peach, plums, salt. Dogs are very curious animals so you have to take care that they don’t eat what they aren’t supposed to. Call ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center 888 426-4435 at once if you believe your dog has eaten something toxic.

I thew away two avocados this week. I wish I would have seen your recipe. Keep up the great work.
Oh no, sometimes they ripe just too fast. Thanks Shernell for your support!
Hi Michelle, I stumbled on your twitter link through another vegan blogger and got your blog link through that. I am soooo happy about that since my aim is learning all I can about the VEGAN-plant-based lifestyle. I love your story about your son and his dog. It brings a soulful and caring atmosphere to your blog. What I love about your blog is that it seems that you not only care about nutrition but also about the planet and its animals, therefore I loved to see you also brought in a little information about nutrition for animals – not many people know that – it was very helpful. Thank you for sharing amazing recipe’s and stories about your own life, your experiences and your journey. What a blessing to hear another person that has been healed by God’s gift to nature, PLANTS (Fruit/Veggies/Seeds etc)!!
Regards from South Africa

I love Avocado mousse. I had it in an Tex-Mex type of restaurant a few years ago. Ever since then, I have been trying to make it on my own and never succeeded. I see the secret to your recipe is Coconut cream. I was using almond milk.
0o0o! What a healthy awesome looking mousse. I’m always a sucker to a good creamy dessert. (Esp. at night… Im the night snacking queen!)
This looks fantastic! So sweet that your son wants to know more about what is toxic for dogs. It’s a long list!
Aw, he is a cutie! Awesome that you have him eating so healthy at such a young age!
I love a new Paleo recipe! Thanks! This will be my new dessert!
Love the flavor of lime here – gives the mousse a nice tangy dimension!
It really does Abigail!
Perfect avocado mousse! The addition of coconut cream is marvelous and the garnish on top with some carob chips just delicious!
