This recipe is one of my favorite ways to include beet in my diet. It tastes great and even those who don’t like beet give this juice a thumbs up. Beet juice is classified as a super food due to its ability to purify the blood and remove harmful toxins. It is a great source of dietary carbohydrates and its low in fat. Beet juice also contains sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, manganese, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B3, vitamin B6 and vitamin C. Beet juice is high in folate, which is especially beneficial during pregnancy to prevent birth defects in babies. By including beet juice in your regular regimen you will find that you will feel great overall, with improved immune system, more energy and stamina; improved digestion and metabolism will result. Want beautiful skin? Drink beet juice. It cures acne, fades blemishes due to its high content of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory substance called butaine. Beet juice is high in iron; it cures anemia and other blood related problems. Want to lower high blood pressure and bad cholesterol? Drink 1 glass of beet juice daily. Beet juice has been found to fight cancer and dissolve tumors from the body. It also dissolves stones in kidney, liver and bladder. Note that some people may find their urine and/ or stool turn pink or red after drinking beet juice, but don’t be alarmed it is not harmful.
- 2 apples
- 1 beet
- ½ inch of ginger
Wash apples, ginger and beet, then cut into pieces that can fit into the juicer feed. Juice beet, then ginger and apples last. Serve immediately or store in a tightly fitting lid for maximum of 24 hours.
