Homemade Almond Butter
I have made my own almond butter with a champion juicer and a food processor. This is so easy and the process takes minutes. Making your own is definitely worth it, seeing as almond butter can be very pricey and depending on your location it may even not be available. Use it in place of peanut butter in your recipes. Also check out my Almond Cake with Fudge Frosting where I included almond butter. If you don’t have a food processor or champion juicer then you can use a blender but will have to add oil and scrape the sides of the blender constantly.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Almond
- pinch of sea salt (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven on 350 degrees. Place almonds on an ungreased baking sheet and roast nuts for 8-10 minutes. Place nuts and salt in a food processor and process for around 8 minutes, or until nuts are creamy and runny. If grounded nuts are building up on the side, stop the machine and use a spatula to scrape down the sides. You may also use raw nuts that have not been roasted, just process longer and you will end with a smooth and creamy butter.
This is what I used in my Almond Fudge Cake.
