Making your own non-toxic cleaner is not only cheaper, safer for the environment but it also healthier for you and your family. This natural cleaner is made with left over orange peels and vinegar. You can use whatever citrus peel you have, lemon, lime or grapefruit will do. Next time I’m planning to use dried lavender buds…
- What you need
- Orange Peels (about 4)
- Distilled White Vinegar
- 1 Quart Glass Jar
Place orange peels in the jar and add vinegar to cover. Close jar tightly and leave for at least 2 weeks, shaking jar periodically. Strain vinegar infusion and dilute 1:1 with water and place in a spray bottle.
Note:Do not use cleaner on granite counter top, vinegar or citrus cleaner will strip the seal off your granite counter due to its acidic nature…
The aroma of this as you clean would be FANTASTIC. We have cats (and grandkids) so I am always careful of what I use around them. I will have to give this a try. Natural is the way to go.
Gloria yes it smells fantastic, yes with pets around you do need to be careful
Get some friendly emoticons. Or those we can choose from. :-)
I’ll be making this. Sounds great! I LOVE great smelling stuff.
Leaving here tomorrow. Pray it happens!
I’VE BEEN MEANING TO ASK IF YOU HAVE A RECIPE FOR DISH WASHING LIQUID, WASHING POWDER & FABRIC SOFTENER. THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL!
