Vegan Sausage Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 vegan sausage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup flour (I used Kluteaz brand gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook until golden brown, turning on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  • Remove sausage and cut into small pieces if whole, meanwhile, adds the flour, nutritional yeast flakes and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring often.
  • Add almond milk and cook gravy until thickened, whisking constantly to avoid any lumps. Add sausage, salt to taste and stir.
  • Serve immediately over biscuits, grits or potatoes.
