I was expecting my family would fall in love with this cranberry-blueberry sauce as they spilled off a pile of Swedish pancakes on a Sunday morning. However, I fell into my own deception, and my lips are now tinted purple, and I can’t stop drowning foods in cranberry blueberry sauce. And now I understand that love is a lovely thing.

Cranberry Blueberry Sauce
I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving week; I’m planning to spend time with my friends and family. So I’m here today with a super-easy cranberry blueberry sauce. You must attempt making cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries if you’ve never done so before!
We used to eat canned jellied cranberry sauce as a kid. But, since making fresh sauce several years ago, I’ve just used bags of fresh cranberries, with the addition of blueberries this year. With the addition of blueberries, those looking for a way to reduce the tartness of their cranberry sauce can do so without adding too much sugar.
The blueberries’ sweetness wonderfully balances the tartness of cranberries, resulting in rich, deep color. This sauce is brightened even more by the different variations, such as the addition of lemon and orange zest. While it goes well with tofu turkey and mashed potatoes, it may also be served as a topping for vegan vanilla ice cream or coconut yogurt!
You’ll love this Cranberry Blueberry Sauce for several reasons. First and foremost, this recipe for Cranberry Blueberry Sauce is simple. Second, it’s so tasty that you’ll find yourself hovering over the pot, begging for a bite! Third, it is healthy and nutritious.

Blueberries and cranberries are extremely nutritious and healthy. They are often called superfoods because they are minimal in calories and extremely beneficial to your health. They’re so tasty and good that they’re sometimes referred to as the “favorite fruit.”
Cranberries nutrition:
Cranberries, a bright red North American fruit, are considered a superfood because of their high nutritional and antioxidant content. These berries are predominantly carbohydrate and fiber-rich. Additionally, they include a variety of nutrients, such as vitamins C, E, and K1, copper, and manganese, several of which have been demonstrated to be beneficial against urinary tract infections.
Higher fiber consumption can also lower a person’s risk of acquiring stroke, coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, stomach problems, and lower blood pressure and cholesterol.
Vitamin C is an incredibly effective natural antioxidant and can help treat a range of diseases.
- Boosts the immune system
- Reduce the oxidative stress induced by free radicals
- Increase plant-based iron uptake
- Encourage collagen production to aid in wound healing
Cranberries are also high in antioxidants, associated with improved immune function, decreased blood pressure, improved cardiovascular health, and even cancer prevention.
Blueberry nutrition:
Blueberries’ health advantages are attributed to a flavonoid called anthocyanin. Flavonoids are plant-based antioxidants.
Numerous studies indicate that increased intake of plant foods like blueberries reduces the risk of heart diseases, obesity, diabetes and improves overall health. In addition, plant foods could also help with skin and hair health, energy, and weight loss.
You can find folate, beta-carotene, choline, manganese, vitamins A, vitamins E, and copper in blueberries.
Blueberries contain various phenolic compounds, including myricetin, kaempferol, quercetin, and chlorogenic acid, in addition to anthocyanins, vitamins, and minerals. These compounds enhance blueberries’ antioxidant potential.
Experts frequently emphasize the benefits of freezing blueberries. However, it is commonly believed that freezing reduces the strength of the blueberry’s health advantages. According to one study, anthocyanin deteriorated by 59 percent after 6 months of storage. This isn’t proven, and different sites disagree about whether freezing blueberries lessens their health benefits. If you’re unsure, go for fresh, organic blueberries.

How to make Cranberry Blueberry Sauce?
Even though this Healthy Cranberry Blueberry Sauce is the best of the best, it is easy and quick to prepare. You’ll require only a few simple ingredients and steps to follow:
Ingredients

- Stir frequently and keep an eye on it to prevent it from burning.

Recipe serving suggestions and variations:
Warm or cooled, this sauce is delicious on its own. It also goes well with pancakes, cheesecakes, waffles, vegan yogurt, frozen yogurt, and vanilla ice cream.
If you don’t like blueberries, try it with other dried or fresh fruits. Strawberries, apples, and cherries are among my favorites.
You can add your favorite sweeteners, but for extra flavor, use organic cane sugar.
Storing suggestions:
You can store this cranberry blueberry sauce in the refrigerator for 10-14 days. Put it in an air-tight container. Just make sure to cool it completely before storing it. You can serve it cold or slightly warm it in the microwave before serving.
You can also freeze this sauce. Make sure that the sauce has cooled to room temperature. Place it in a freezer-safe air-tight container, mark the date, and place it in the freezer. The cranberry blueberry sauce will last for around two months and will still be delicious a year later. You can thaw this cranberry sauce in the refrigerator overnight, or in the microwave using the thaw option.

This was amazing. I want to start doing so much more with cranberries now because of this recipe. I will be making this over and over. My husband and son enjoyed it. I always hated how much sugar is in cranberry sauce. I highly recommend.
