I recently had a radio interview with Tina Gang, the host of Refreshing 90.9fm, a Christian radio station in Lancaster, Ohio. During the interview, I shared my journey that inspired me to write my first cookbook, ‘Healthier Steps: 125 Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes.’ I shared how my personal experiences led me to create healthy and delicious meals, free from gluten and animal products, that are both nutritious and enjoyable to eat.”

“In the interview with Tina Gang, I spoke about my background and education, including my training as a registered nurse specializing in cardiac care. As a healthcare provider at a teaching hospital in New Jersey, I faced the daily challenge of caring for “frequent flyers” – patients who repeatedly required admission.

Despite receiving more medication and undergoing increasingly invasive procedures, many of these patients continued to deteriorate. This experience inspired me to take a closer look at the role that nutrition plays in our health and led me to pursue a more holistic approach to wellness through cooking.

Ha that my story and my cookbook can inspire others to make positive changes in their own lives and prioritize their health through nourishing food choices.”

“I shared with Tina Gang and the listeners how my passion for healthy, plant-based cooking started five years prior when I transitioned to a vegan diet. I had a love for entertaining and cooking for both small and large groups of people, and I wanted to showcase that a vegan diet could be both delicious and satisfying. My dishes, made with fresh, whole ingredients, impressed even meat lovers to my delight.

Life Changing Experiences

“In the interview, I opened up about a personal and life-changing experience that further fueled my passion for health and wellness. After giving birth to my son Daevyd, complications from a C-section nearly claimed my life and I spent 28 days hospitalized. This challenging time in my life made me even more determined to help others on their own journeys to better health.

“I also shared with Tina Gang and the listeners about my journey as a vegan blogger, which started three and a half years ago as a way to reach a wider audience. During this time, I also discovered that I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and that gluten was a trigger for my symptoms. I made the decision to remove gluten from my diet and started developing gluten-free recipes that were both delicious and nutritious.


This led me to transform my blog from just a vegan blog to a gluten-free vegan blog, as I saw the benefits firsthand of a gluten-free lifestyle and wanted to share this information with others. I was grateful for the opportunity to discuss my experiences and how they led me to write my cookbook, ‘Healthier Steps: 125 Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes.’ I hoped that my story and my recipes could provide others with the resources and inspiration they need to make positive changes in their own health and wellness journeys.”
