Nature’s Penicillin-Homemade Remedy

Nature’s Penicillin-Homemade Remedy

Nature's Penicillin

What Is Nature’s Penicillin?

Nature’s Penicillin is a formula that I have been making for years whenever I have a cold or flu. I found that this formula speeds up recovery time and really boost my immune system. I first heard about it when a natural health speaker Thomas Jackson of Meet Ministry demonstrated it at a health presentation. Here is the original recipe.

This potent antiviral and antibacterial drink full of powerful antioxidants will surely boost your immune system and put it in high gear. It is especially good for influenza, colds, headache, and other respiratory conditions. All the ingredients are found in your kitchen.

Recipe

  • 1 orange
  • 1 grapefruit
  • 2 lemons
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ onion
  • ¼ inch ginger (opt)

In the blender:

Peel orange, grapefruit, and lemons. Cut in small pieces and place in blender. Peel and chop onion and ginger. Blend thoroughly (you may need to add a little water to get things moving along).

For adults – Take 1 tbsp periodically throughout the day, taking total 1 cup.

For children – take 1 tsp periodically throughout the day, taking a total ½ cup.

Store in a tightly closed glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

If symptoms persist or worsen, please consult a physician.

Oranges– Contain high levels of Vitamin C, which boosts the immune system and beta-carotene along with calcium, magnesium, folic acid and potassium.

Grapefruit- High in Vitamin C and potassium, removes the poison from the system. Aids in weight loss. Contains lycopene, a potent antioxidant known to prevent free radical damage in the body.

Lemons – Contain Vitamin C to strengthen the immune system and potassium which is beneficial for the cardiovascular system. Lemons are antiseptic. Studies have shown that lemon contains powerful antibacterial properties. Although lemon taste acidic, it has an alkalizing effect on the body- it is known that disease doesn’t thrive in alkaline blood. Lemons assist the liver in eliminating toxins from our blood. Check out The Amazing Benefits of Lemons!

Garlic – A powerful natural antibiotic, proven by scientists. Unlike conventional antibiotics, the bacteria doesn’t build up forming super resistant bugs, rather garlic may be taken over long periods. Garlic is also a good source of Vitamin C, B6, selenium, manganese and calcium. It helps to get rid of toxins from the body and cleanses the blood.

Onion– Contain Vitamin C, B6, iron, niacin, chromium, and calcium. Onions have been used throughout history to treat asthma, as they contain a compound that helps the muscles to relax. They help loosen mucus from the body. It also contains antiseptic and antibacterial properties, and help fight against tuberculosis, bronchitis, and urinary infections. It also causes increased circulation, therefore increasing sweating, which is helpful in reducing fevers.

Nicole, if you find that the garlic taste too strong, use 1 or 2 instead. You will still receive the immune system building effect. My children loved it with the 3 but I use lots of garlic on a daily basis so they are quite used to it. I always put at least 3 cloves in my salad dressing.

This had an over powering taste of garlic. I’m pretty sure my kids hate me for making them take it. Is this normal or did I do something wrong??

This remedy is so wonderful! I made it for my grandmother and myself and it worked right away! I think it would make a great tofu marinade too.

Mona, if you are concern with garlic and onion, please substitute with 1 inch of ginger and you will have the same benefit.

Thank You, Thank You!! The taste was almost too much for me to handle, but I managed to get down several doses, at the first sign of a cold yesterday, and it was gone by morning.

I’ve watched this same cold last weeks in other people, I’m so thankful to have it gone in 24hrs! THANK YOU!!! Not even a sniffle right now.

I’m so thankful my friend turned me onto this recipe. I have take two days now and it has helped me recover from a horrible flu. I had a real hard time eating it this morning because the onion flavor is so strong. Can it be a smaller amount or even omitted. My daughter (7) would eat it yesterday, but today wouldn’t go near it.

Christie, if you cannot eat grapefruit go ahead and leave them out. It is important to note that some individuals may have a negative reaction when they consume grapefruit while taking medications such as lipitor, viagra, zoloft, valium, tegretol, prednisone and others. Please consult your physician if you are on medication
    before having grapefruit.

I tried this. The grapefruit really makes it — not the greatest of tastes, but not the worse, either. Keeping from getting a cold is important sometimes! Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the recipe! Can’t imagine what this will taste like, but it sure is a wiser choice than taking a toxic flu shot!

Interesting. I’ll have to give this a try next time we have colds. I drink a lot of ginger tea for a natural immune booster and that seems to help with preventing colds…so far.
