Ingredients For Oven Baked BBQ Potato Chips
- Potatoes: The main component of this recipe, potatoes provide a starchy base that crisps up beautifully when baked. They offer a mild, earthy flavor that pairs well with robust seasonings.
- Vegetable Oil (Avocado Oil): You choose avocado oil for its high smoke point and subtle flavor that doesn’t overpower the taste of the spices. It helps the seasoning stick to the potatoes and encourages them to crisp up without burning.
- Nutritional Yeast Flakes: These flakes add a cheesy, nutty flavor to the chips, enriching the BBQ profile with a hint of umami. They’re also packed with vitamins and minerals, making them a nutritious addition.
- Smoked Paprika: imparts a deep, smoky flavor reminiscent of traditional BBQ. Smoked paprika adds a vibrant red hue and a warm, complex taste.
- Onion Powder: Brings a slight sharpness and sweetness, enhancing the savory notes of the BBQ seasoning.
- Garlic Powder: Adds a rich, aromatic depth that complements the onion powder and smoked paprika, contributing to the overall hearty flavor of the chips.
- Organic Cane Sugar (Optional): A touch of sugar can balance the smokiness and heat with a subtle sweetness, enhancing the BBQ flavor profile.
- Cayenne Pepper: Provides a spicy kick that you can adjust according to your heat preference. It adds an exciting layer of flavor that sparks up the chips.
- Salt: rounds out all the flavors, enhances the natural taste of the potatoes and seasonings, and is essential for that authentic chip flavor.
