So this is day 3 of the New Year and so far the weather here in Florida is amazing, today were are expecting it to be sunny and 81 degrees. I’m planning to go outside and enjoy some of this lovely weather we are experiencing.
Yesterday we had a tasty Orange Creamsicle Smoothie and a delicious Spinach Soup that reminds me of pepperpot soup. It was so delicious I made two batches. The next time I make it I plan to add okras.
Now back to this healthy apple pie smoothie recipe, with this smoothie the saying is so true, ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’. There is no added sugar and it definitely wasn’t missed.
Ingredients For Apple Pie Smoothie
- Almond Milk
- Apple
- Banana
- Flaxseeds
- Vanilla
- Cinnamon or Cardamom
How To Make Apple Pie Smoothie
Core and chop the apples in large chunks, add to a high-speed blender with almond milk, banana break into pieces, flaxseeds, vanilla, and cinnamon or cardamom.
I love to use Fuji or Honeycrisp Apple for my smoothie, almond milk but you can substitute with your favorite non-dairy milk.
I added flaxseeds for extra fiber and along with the pectin in the apples, they are great for bowel health.
For the spice, I keep it simple, vanilla, cardamom or cinnamon. This is so nourishing and comforting. Perfect winter smoothie.
