So today is Day 4 of sharing yummy smoothie ideas for breakfast. The links for Days 1-3 are below.

Although it is winter you can enjoy your smoothie with summer fruits, at this time of the year I would rather use frozen summer fruits than fresh ones because more than likely the frozen ones taste better because they were harvested during the summer months.

Frozen summer fruits are usually processed immediately after harvesting, so there is little nutrient loss. They are usually picked when fully ripened so they are full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

However, the fresh ones were probably picked before they were fully ripened and kept in cold storage or transported for thousands of miles to get to your local supermarket losing nutrients along the way.

Another reason I love to use frozen fruits for my smoothies is the fact that they are already frozen, this eliminates the need to add ice, especially during the winter when it is already chilly. I find that adding ice also dilutes the sweet taste of the fruits so no ice might eliminate the need for added sweetener.

Other Yummy Smoothies To Try

You can freeze your own peaches and mangoes or use store-bought. I love mangoes and peaches so much that usually, they don’t last very long in my kitchen. I love to eat them fresh.

How To Make A Peach Mango Smoothie

To make the creamiest smoothies without the gritty feel in your mouth, I highly suggest you use a high-speed blender. One of the best investment you could ever make. Not only are they great for smoothies but in general for everyday uses, for making sauces, dressings, flours, soups etc.

All you have to do is add the ingredients to your blender and process until your smoothie is smooth and creamy.

You can add a cup of leafy green vegetable such as spinach or kale for a delicious green smoothie.
