Smoothies are one of our favorite go-to recipes, whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack. This Pineapple Banana Smoothie is one of my classic favorites.
There is nothing as easy or convenient as a quick smoothie. I throw the ingredients in my high-speed blender or even a smoothie blender with a detachable cup, and I’m ready to go.
It’s perfect to make before going to work or running errands when you don’t have time to stop and eat. I love taking along my smoothie in the car, instead of just accepting hunger.
A smoothie before a workout is also such a great injection of healthy energy, and you can add ingredients that you like for your fitness routines, such as protein powder and supplements.
Are Smoothies Healthy?
In addition to being a quick way to get some nutrients, many people use smoothies to support certain health goals, such as weight loss or gain. Smoothies can also be used to support recovery from various illnesses.
The following are some potential applications and benefits of smoothies:
Weight gain. If you are trying to gain weight, you can include bananas, coconut cream, and protein powders in your shake, along with other high-calorie ingredients.
Weight loss. The nutrients in smoothies can be made to be similar to that of a full meal while being much lower in calories than many meals. Smoothies can be used to lose weight since you can incorporate healthy ingredients into them.
Workouts. Smoothies can provide a steady supply of glucose and complex carbs, which are ideal for fueling workouts. They can also enhance muscle glycogen stores, preventing cramping and help prevent muscle pain.

Pineapple Banana Smoothie
Here we share our banana smoothie recipe that also includes pineapples, one of our favorite ingredients. The good thing about smoothies is they are so refreshing, easy to make, and are delicious! They also are usually good for your health as they are very filling and have such healthy ingredients, so that’s a BONUS.
A banana is a great smoothie ingredient I tend to use in almost every drink, not just because I usually always have some but also because they’re the perfect smoothie ingredient.
The pineapple served as a sweet, tangy touch to this banana smoothie. A perfect balance of sweetness made this recipe irresistible.
In this recipe, you can also add any other fruits or vegetables you love. I love adding strawberries or mango, and I probably will add some of both next time I make this smoothie.
You can also add coconut milk, cream, or flesh, for an extratropical flair. Coconut is also such a nutritious ingredient. You can use it in addition to or in place of almond milk.
I love adding soy or coconut yogurt for a probiotic boost. It also adds more creaminess and great flavor.
Lastly, you can use in juice in place of milk. This will make the smoothie more liquid or slush-like inconsistency. I recommend freezing the juice in ice cube trays and adding them to your smoothie in this form.
Health Benefits Of Banana
- Bananas have many health benefits and can be consumed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Some of the nutrients contained in bananas are potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, magnesium, copper, fiber, and protein.
- Eating bananas is also a good way to maintain blood sugar levels, aid with digestion, help to maintain heart health, assist with weight loss, and are easy to include in your diet.
- Bananas are also very filling and will prevent you from feeling hungry for several hours. This will significantly assist those who are formulating weight loss plans. In addition, a medium banana contains only 102 calories.
- Bananas also contain bioactive plant compounds such as dopamine and catechin. The dopamine which comes from bananas acts as an antioxidant and the catechin can assist with reducing the risk of heart disease.
Is Pineapple Good For You?
Manganese, zinc, and vitamins B 6 and C are all in pineapple juice. These nutrients are essential for tissue repair, bone health, energy production, muscle growth, and the immune system. Zinc, phosphorus, calcium, choline, iron, and vitamin K are all present in minor or trace quantities, and several B vitamins are also present.
It is loaded with antioxidants and boosts immunity within the body. It also promotes cell growth and development. Also, anti-oxidants help in reducing inflammation and fighting chronic diseases.
Pineapples contain an enzyme known as bromelain. This enzyme aids in digestion and helps in breaking down protein more efficiently. It also assists with pancreatic insufficiency, which is a situation in which the pancreas is unable to produce enough digestive enzymes.
Almond Milk Nutrition
Almonds contain monounsaturated fats and no cholesterol. Mono-saturated fats are healthy fats known to reduce LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and prevent heart disease.
Almonds also contain Vitamin E, an antioxidant beneficial in neutralizing free radicals.
Studies showed that almonds will control the blood sugar level and prevent blood sugar surges. Therefore eating almonds are beneficial in preventing diabetes.
Other nutrients are calcium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, potassium, and zinc.
How To Make A Smoothie?
- Blending frozen fruits gives them a smoothie-like consistency.
- It is probably not necessary to use so much ice with frozen fruit.
- How much ice you want add will depend on how thick you want your smoothie to be, so feel free to experiment.
- If you want to add fruit juice, freeze it in an ice cube tray for a smoothie with a thicker consistency.
- The sweetness of your smoothie will depend the sweetness of the fruit you use. If your smoothie isn’t sweet enough for you, extra sweetener can be added. To stay healthier, try using stevia or monkfruit instead of sugar when using sweeteners.
- Vegetables can be sneaked into a smoothie you’re making. Half the time, the youngsters don’t even notice they’ve been given extra vitamins when they are added to a smoothie!
- Get the ingredients ready in advance. Keep the fruits in bags in the freezer after washing, slicing, and dividing them. You can make smoothie prep bags by adding pre-portioned frozen fruit to sandwich bags for optimal speed. This way, all the ingredients are ready to go straight from the freezer to the blender!
- To prevent leftover smoothies from turning brown, add lemon juice. Then, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on top of the smoothie, touching the top of the liquid so there is no air. Store in the fridge for up to 12 hours. You can also freeze the smoothie but I’d recommend following the above frozen ingredient hack instead.
