This pineapple salsa is the perfect side dish, appetizer with chips, topping for tacos, burrito bowls, burgers, or eat alone.
The summer couldn’t end without me sharing with you a salsa recipe, this pineapple salsa recipe is bursting with flavors and not to mention how colorful it is.
I love salsa and always have it some ready to serve as a dip with chips. The fact that I’m originally from Jamaica, I always seem to prefer fruit salsa even though all salsas. My Mango Tomato Salsa, Simple Salsa Recipe, and Mango Avocado Salsa are also huge hits.

Fresh Pineapple Salsa
So recently I bought the sweetest pineapple I ever had in a long while, I decided that I had to make salsa with it and I was so happy I did!
It was an easy pineapple salsa recipe with only 7 ingredients. The flavor was outrageously great and so addictive, I couldn’t stop eating it. I decided to serve it in the pineapple shell (bowl), and it was so eye-catching and festive.
Fresh Pineapple Salsa Ingredients
- Fresh Pineapple – choose a pineapple that is ripe, the skin should be turning yellow, with a slight give when pressed firmly. If you don’t have fresh pineapple then substitute with a can of pineapple tidbits.
- Red Bell Pepper– choose bell pepper than are bright red, shiny without bruises or withered skin.
- Cherry Tomato – you can go with red ones or the other colorful varieties to add more colors, cut them in halves or quarters.
- Red Onion – this adds color and spicy flavor to your salsa.
- Jalapeno – you can omit the pepper, or remove the seeds and membranes to reduce the heat.
- Cilantro – this aromatic herb adds a wonderful flavor to your salsa, if you don’t like the taste, then add freshly chopped basil leaves instead.
- Lime – balances the flavors and adds a lovely tropical flavor, substitute with lemon.
- Salt – add salt to taste.

How To Make Pineapple Salsa?
- Make a pineapple bowl/boat. Wash the pineapple and using a sharp knife, cut off half of the pineapple lengthwise, making sure to leave the stem intact.
- Cut around the edges of the pineapple with the knife slanting towards the center.
- Make cuts along each side of the core lengthwise. Remove the core and save to add to smoothies.
- Using a large serving spoon, scoop out the flesh and place in a bowl. Dice the flesh of the pineapple to whatever size you prefer.
- Toss all your chopped ingredients in a bowl until fully combined.
- Spoon salsa in the pineapple bowl and garnish with chopped cilantro.
- To store, place leftover pineapple salsa in a container with a tight-fitted lid in the refrigerator for 2 days.
