Words Of Encouragement For Men

Writing down a man’s duties may occupy an endless list. As a man, you have so much to do and be, and it can honestly get overwhelming. Sometimes, nobody gets you. Sometimes, you’re thinking of money to support both your immediate as well as your extended family. Things can get really busy. Below are Words Of Encouragement For Men that can help you through life’s challenges!

At other times, perhaps it’s just, work stress. And at other times, oh dear, it’s the heavy responsibility of being a father figure to your children as well as the community.

And even if you’re not married, it still gets you. You’re a man and people will naturally always look up to you for direction. It’s just how God made it.

When God made man, he wasn’t made to lie around idly. God made man and gave him work to do.

The burdens and responsibilities of men are not a consequence of sin or the fall, not at all.

From the beginning, God gave man work to do. It says;

And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it..” Genesis 2:15 KJV

So, the duty of man to work is established. It’s not a punishment, it’s a responsibility.

However, because of the fall of man, this responsibility has long become a burden because of limitations by humans and demonic activities working against man, being able to cause stress and depression.

Yes, believe it, stress and depression are real problems men face. The anxiety and pressure to do well are real.

If men are humans who can fail, then they need encouragement to get through.

This is where the words of encouragement that can reinvigorate and put them back on a course of victory are a blessing.

Words of Encouragement are Helpful

If anyone ever told you, you could do it and you could be great, chances are excellent that that motivation brought you to the success you are today. True? Yes.

What am I saying? Words are powerful.

Your mind is like a word store where words are kept. Much like a natural store where things are kept – both useful and useless – the mind is a replica with this ability to keep.

In a man’s mind are all sorts of words and opinions – the good, the bad, and the ugly. You make a precise decision of choosing which words to pay attention to and which ones to throw out the window.

But what happens when your mind – your word storehouse – is bankrupt of good and inspiring words? It could be disastrous. Because man’s mind is like a machine that continues to access the store of events. Whenever he meets a good one, it inspires him, and when he meets a bad one, well you know the rest.

Everyone needs to hear words that can motivate them positively. Every man deserves to be the best he can be, and this takes dedicated hard work inspired by lots of encouraging words.

When soldiers are set for battle, apart from their arsenal of weapons and armory, the old times and the new still have another thing in common – motivation.

They call it motivation or a pep talk. You’ve surely heard of pep talks and their super ability to manufacture bursts of rushing energy.

It’s just amazing, somewhat like a miracle how a weak team of athletes can become so inspired in a matter of minutes by mere words, and they magically overcome a stronger opponent.

That’s exactly the power of words as it says in Proverbs 18:21 KJV

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof..”

“Those who love it will eat its fruits”, is what the bible says. Words can give life!

In the same vein, have you also seen a person so full of life and potential, who never got the right support in deeds and words and ended up a catastrophic failure? I have, and I’m sure you also have.

This is the power of words!

In the bible, kings would wait on God and hear from prophets whether to go to war or not. There was something about the courage God’s word brought them no matter how enhanced their weapons were or how strategic they planned to be.

Whenever God said, “Go”, they rode upon their chariots with a feeling of invincibility. They felt indestructible because their confidence was sponsored by the words of the Great and Mighty God.

That’s where I want to bring you, to the knowledge of the words of this Eternal King who never fails. He has exalted His word above His name. That gives you the idea of how serious He is.

His words have been from the beginning, and we’ve never caught wind of a single occasion failure alluded to Him.

When He speaks, He brings those things that are not as though they were.

By His words, He created the heavens and the earth.

His words are life, the very life you need to make it through.

Don’t despise the word of God over your family, health, business or career, ministry, and other things that concern you.

God says His words will never fall to the ground in a sense of ineffectiveness, meaning it always accomplishes what it was intended to do for those who receive it with meekness and faith.

Proverbs 18:21 KJV “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof..”

Words of Encouragement Are For You

More often than not, there’s just another man by the corner whose story we can learn from in the bible. There are really lots of examples to take home for whatever situation you may be finding trouble with.

This is why the Bible exists – as a compendium of possibilities men experienced as they worked with God.

Working with God means trusting Him the whole nine yards. It means forgetting what you think and know, and fully subscribing to what He says.

You may be learned, perhaps a scholar even. But if it’s God you’ve decided to walk with, then you have to leave all that knowledge that interrupts His wisdom right at the door.

Knowledge is good but it must subscribe to God’s wisdom, otherwise, it becomes a hindrance to the move of God, and invariably your progress.

Men come naturally with the inbuilt disposition that they can do this and do that on their own. But it’s really the character of pride.

While it’s good you’re trying to make the best of your life and make everyone you love happy while you’re at it, if you’re trying to do it with a secret motive of scoring a point, then you’re on the wrong path.

God wants you to prosper and shine in everything you do but you’ve got to include Him in your plans.

Do you think your prosperity is more beneficial to you than to God? And mind you, I’m not limiting prosperity to money here. More on that in a moment.

Okay, so about your prosperity being a vehicle for God. In the prayer Jesus taught us, He said to pray like this, Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven…

How do you think the will of God can find expression in your life if you’re pressed on every side without hope of coming out?

The very next line in the pattern of prayer Jesus gave us, is to pray that God provides “Our daily bread”. Because, of course, you have to be alive to do the work of God. Right?

You need peace in order to properly focus on matters of God’s kingdom. That’s why the apostles always pray this in the churches saying “Grace and peace be multiplied”. It takes peace to serve God effectively.

God wants you to prosper and shine in everything you do but you’ve got to include Him in your plans.

Be Encouraged

And about prosperity, don’t limit that word to only money and financial empowerment. God does far more than that when He prospers a man.

God’s prosperity is like the flaming sword of the cherubim in the garden of Eden – it turns every way, touching everything about you.

Prosperity in the lexicon of God is simply put as all things working together for your good. That’s what Deuteronomy 28:1-14 teach us.

All things that depict the blessing of God are termed prosperity. So, while money and finances are part of it, they’re only a small portion of God’s prosperity.

If you don’t have money but enjoy good health, peace of mind, spiritual strength, and other blessings of God, you’re already prosperous and it’s only a matter of time before your finances join the train.

You have to understand when you’re making progress, so the devil doesn’t deceive you with some hogwash ideas that God isn’t sponsoring.

In Your Family Life…

God is intentional about everything you think you know. That family you’re thinking so hard about to the extent of restricting the flow of God’s sweet peace, God cares about them more than you do.

Yes, your immediate family or the extended side all mean a lot to God.

I know there’s that feeling of responsibility that comes with nature. It just makes you always desire to be in charge and make sure everything goes well but sometimes it’s okay to be powerless.

Sometimes, it’s okay to be irresponsible as it pertains to having faith in God. It’s okay to not know what else to do, and just through your hands up in surrender to God.

Tell Him to take over because He says that your family is already blessed. So, if you’re doing all you can and know to do, yet it seems not to be working, brother, let God take it from here.

Family troubles may come but God’s plan is to give you peace and comfort to get through. Paul the apostle calls God “the Father of comfort”. God establishes this comfort in your heart by the working of the Holy Spirit in you.

Things are not as bad as you think, it’s just that the devil keeps magnifying these problems before your eyes.

Now, do you remember King David? Yes, that blessed king. See how much he went through even with family life, yet he was a blessed man God would call a man after His heart.

Did David’s troubles mean God wasn’t mindful of him anymore? No, it didn’t.

Sometimes, these difficult seasons will blow. But that’s just what they are – seasons that will pass.

If you’re having it rough in your immediate family, maybe the children are misbehaving and not showing good signs, don’t worry. God has spoken a blessing over your fruits. You must continue to agree with the word of God until you see it coming to pass in your life.

If it’s something about your marriage, I know it can be really difficult. Yet, your hope must stand firm in the Lord who cares for you. He instituted marriage and intended that the two of you should be one, don’t think He’ll let the devil destroy that union. Give your heart to Him as you continue to pray for yourself and your partner. He will work things out.

And if it’s about your extended family – uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, or parents – God will solve that problem as well. It may be a riff and nobody is co-operating to make peace but keep praying that the God of peace intervenes and He will. There are countless testimonies of God mending really devastated relationships and making them new again. If He did it for them, He will do it for you. Let your heart be at peace.

About Work…

Work can get difficult, like really devastating. Challenges spring up no matter where you’ve decided to pitch your income tent.

If you’re in the corporate world, then there’s always going to be the problem of bosses, colleagues, or the stress on the job. And if you’ve decided to do it on your own and have your business, boy, the challenges are real as well.

So, whatever way you chose, I get it that there must be challenges you’re possibly facing right now. But you can’t even think of giving up.

I understand if you have to re-evaluate things and ask God if there’s something better for you. That’s not quitting, it’s simply paying attention to the will of God.

But when like Elijah, you want to throw in the towel and just say “Lord, take me, I’ve had enough!”, That’s no longer okay.

Never give up! Stress is part of the job!

As I said, Elijah was given a job to do – be a prophet – but at a point in time, he felt overwhelmed because of the hardship of continuing against a wicked queen (Jezebel) and her ungodly husband (Ahab).

Do you know what happened after Elijah asked God to take his life? God answered his prayer. God found a replacement for him – Elisha – and whisked Elijah out of the earth on chariots of fire.

Is that what you want God to do? Because when you begin complaining about that job, God may just take it from you and give it to someone else who needs it.

It’s a different situation taking something to God in prayer as Philippians 4:6 teaches us to do. However, it’s another thing to grumble – God hates that.

So, just like Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Even with the opposition, he was facing from Sanballat and Tobiah, he kept working until he finished his mission.

It’s funny that most times when we’re not persuaded about what God is doing through us, we can easily be derailed by our enemies’ jeering.

And just like Solomon building the temple. It took seven years of hard work to complete the temple. It was a dedicated process they saw to the end.

Many times, things can happen to us that take time to achieve. It’s only a process and you’ve got to hang in there!

What About Service to God?

Serving got more difficult these days but what do we do? We continue to serve!

Whether it’s a ministry God has committed into your hands or you support another ministry, challenges are bound to come.

You need to understand that from the moment you decided to give your life to Christ and walk the ways of righteousness, you were on the devil’s radar.

You don’t even have to do anything extra to suffer attacks.

The bible says, “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keeps the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17 KJV

All hell already broke loose on anyone who would desire to serve God. It happened a long time ago and you’re just caught in the crossfire. It didn’t begin with you.

Don’t think Satan is launching special attacks against you. Right from the beginning, He’s been attacking anyone who decided to keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Remember how Satan came to tempt Jesus after His fast? He didn’t stop there. We see him antagonizing Jesus all the days of His earthly ministry.

So, Jesus says Satan comes to Him but finds nothing to hold against Him. If Satan came to Jesus, then he will also come to His followers to try and put them off. But as Jesus overcame him, so do you have the power to overcome.

Paul also says of Satan’s activities in 1 Thessalonians 2:18, “Because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us.”

Satan was opposing the work of God. But thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph in every situation. Hallelujah!

As God gave the apostles the power and authority that guaranteed their victory over the devil’s attempts, so does He give everyone who asks for His strength.

So, ask God for help and empowerment and you will overcome that challenge in the ministry.

It could be financial challenges in the ministry or other administrative issues you’re experiencing. God wants His work to prosper, and inadvertently, wants you to prosper in that work. For it is in your prosperity that God’s work prospers.

Don’t think He’s left you all by yourself. Not at all!

His word says that not by your might or your power but by His Spirit will He make it good.

ask God for help and empowerment and you will overcome that challenge in the ministry.

Concluding

God’s will is that you prosper. His prosperity is not tied to financial abundance alone. While that’s a wonderful part of it, it’s not the whole of the story.

When you read through scriptures, the plan of God jumps out of the pages and it’s so clear what intentions God has for you.

God wants you to be saved eternally as His priority. The next thing on His agenda is that the world is also saved through you.

It’s just like He told Abraham that the families of the earth would be blessed through him. God also has that intention for your life.

But how does that come to be? By the prosperity of God in your life.

His prosperity includes but is not limited to the fulness of health, stability of the family, financial abundance, spiritual blessings in gifts of the spirit and prospering spiritual ministry, a living relationship with Him, and every other good thing you can think of.

However, as much as God has this amazing plan for you, the devil also has a plan to bring you the exact opposite of all these.

That’s why you must trust God above your present circumstances. God is not the author of your pain, the devil is.

You must hold on and hold firm to the promises of God.

Grace and peace are what God desires for your life. When you’re grounded in peace, then your mind is clear enough to do the will of God on earth as it is in heaven.

Although Jesus said you shall face tribulation in the world, it wasn’t something He would bring upon you. It was the devil’s agenda Jesus was revealing to us.

You must continue in well-doing and faint not as Paul says.

Hold fast to the profession of faith which you first believed, declaring that you have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places.

Declare that the plans of God have always been to give you hope and an expected end. His plans are to give you a desirous future because His word says the desire of the righteous shall come to pass.

Whatever good thing you desire as you serve God, having a will aligned to His will, is exactly what God also desires for you.

Peace in your home, financial abundance, spiritual growth and exploits, and much more are all the things God wants you to have.

We believe this because the bible is full of these same historic patterns that those who came before us experienced.

John says I pray that all goes well for you. “All” means all.

There is a reward for those who diligently seek God in faith and you’ll get that reward because your strength will not fail you.

Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, that God is able to keep your body, soul, and spirit until the day of His appearing.

God knows your every need. He has blessed you with everything that pertains to life and godliness. What you need for your physical wellbeing has been provided, as well as what you need for your spiritual assignment.

Don’t doubt God because of the pain of the moment. Don’t give up because it’s feeling too difficult to get through.

Paul says that we’re pressed on every side yet not crushed.

This is God preserving you because He wants you to have a great story at the end. The troubles of today will only become a beautiful part of that testimony tomorrow.

You can’t give up!
