I decided to update this recipe for Pina Colada Smoothie that was originally posted, July 22, 2014, after our recent trips to Jamaica last October and November to be part of my daily smoothie regime.

Pina Colada Smoothie reminds me of Iberostar hotel in Jamaica with it lovely tropical view.

When I think of Pina cola smoothie, I remember drinking non-alcoholic pina colada while relaxing on the white sandy beaches in Montego Bay and Sandy Bay Jamaica.

This version of healthy pina colada smoothie is so delicious you won't miss the alcohol plus the ingredients are mostly in your kitchen.

Ingredients For Pina Colada Smoothie

  • Coconut Milk
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Pineapple
  • Banana

How To Make Pina Colada Smoothie

Freeze fruits for making smoothies so when fruits are on sale purchase extra, peel them and chop them. You can freeze them for about 2 hours on a baking sheet in a single layer then transfer them to a freezer bag or an airtight container.

You can also freeze them in portion size containers so you can grab and dump into your blender. Frozen fruits give the smoothie a rich and creamy texture like ice has been added.

Full fat coconut milk in the can gives a richer texture as well but you can always substitute with lite coconut milk.

To make your homemade pina colada recipe, place coconut milk and pineapple juice in the blender, add banana and pineapple chunks. Blend until smooth and creamy.
