What Are Tater Tots?
Tater tots are cute little cylindrical, pillowy, and crispy potato treats made from shredded potatoes that are generally deep-fried.
Any potato works great for this recipe, I used a waxy red skin potato.
Ingredients For Vegan Tater Tots
- Potatoes
- Onion
- Nutritional Yeast Flakes
- Salt
- Cayenne Pepper
- Olive Oil
How Are Tater Tots Made?
- Scrub potatoes and cook in boiling water until tender, about 20 minutes. When still warm, allowing to cool enough so you can handle, remove the peel and discard.
- Using a box grater, finely grate potato and place in a large bowl. Gently stir in minced onion, yeast flakes, sea salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Preheat oven 425 F.Take a small amount, about a teaspoon and form into a cylindrical shape or a ball and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush or spray with coconut or olive oil. Bake for 30 minutes turning halfway. Delicious served with ketchup!
