The Ideal Consistency!
Banana milk has a unique texture, which is silky and flavorful but thin and watery. It is not as creamy and thick as, for example, a banana smoothie. Even though it has essentially the same ingredients as a banana smoothie — milk, bananas, and a touch of sugar — the liquid-to-banana ratio is crucial for achieving the desired consistency.
Recipe’s Nutritional Value
Bananas are one of the healthiest, most convenient, and most delicious fruits you can buy, and they’re also one of the cheapest. This makes them an excellent option for anyone seeking a healthy diet.
- This food, which is mostly made up of carbohydrates, also has a lot of important vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals in it. They have potassium, catechins, and resistant starch, which are all good for you.
- You’ll get 10% of your daily vitamin C from this.
- Vitamin B6 is abundant in these foods.
- People who eat them can help keep their skin looking good because they have manganese in them.
- Unripe bananas also contain resistant starch, which your body cannot digest.
- Use this product prior to or following a workout to avoid cramping.
- Furthermore, they may aid in weight loss because they are low in calories, high in nutrition, and filling.
- Potassium is required for kidney function and blood pressure regulation. Bananas, which contain a lot of potassium, may be particularly beneficial for keeping your kidneys healthy.
- Potassium is abundant in bananas, which is good for blood pressure.
- Bananas may be helpful for your heart because they contain a lot of potassium and other nutrients.
- Furthermore, their pectins and resistant starch may help to improve colon health.
Almond Milk
Almond milk is widely regarded as a healthier alternative to regular milk. Regular milk has more calories than almond milk. Almond milk is healthy and nutrient-dense.
Almonds have a somewhat sweeter taste, are low in carbohydrates, and are filled with nutrients, including dietary fiber, protein, and magnesium. In addition, they may offer more health advantages.
Almonds are high in calcium and phosphorus, which help strengthen bones and prevent fractures. It’s also high in heart-healthy monounsaturated fat and beneficial antioxidants like vitamin E. If you’re on a low-carb diet, this gluten-free ingredient is a great choice.
Lemon Juice
It contains a lot of vitamin C. Studies have shown that vitamin C is an essential ingredient for preventing a variety of contemporary diseases. Vitamin C is required for bone formation, connective tissue mending, and gum health.
Recipe’s Required Ingredients
- Almond milk: Almond milk is my preferred liquid because it adds a rich flavor. But you may substitute any type of plant-based milk or even regular cow milk.
- Banana: You’ll need the ripe frozen banana. It will add natural flavor and sweetness to your banana milk. Avoid using unripe bananas.
- Maple syrup: It is optional to add sweetener. Before adding the syrup, you can taste the milk to see if it’s sweet enough for your tastes (sweetness actually depends on the ripeness of your banana). Agave syrup or other granulated sugar can be used in place of maple syrup.
- Vanilla: The addition of vanilla enhances the flavor of this banana milk.
- Lemon juice: Lemon juice adds freshness to your drink.
How To Make Banana Milk?
Making banana milk is so easy that even your little ones can do it.
Place almond milk, bananas, maple syrup, vanilla, and lemon juice in a high-speed blender and process until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately after blending to avoid separation.
Homemade Banana Milk Storage
It’s preferable to drink the milk right away because the separation and discoloration will become apparent as time passes. However, if you must keep it for a longer period of time, chilling for up to two days is OK. Before you sip the milk, give it a good shake.
Uses Of Banana Milk
So here is how I use my banana milk. Because I’m not allergic to nuts, I’ll normally top cereal and oatmeal with a tablespoon of peanut butter or cashew butter and a sprinkle of chia seeds for a delicious banana flavor reminiscent of my childhood…but with a healthy twist. It is also tasty to drink as it is!
Variations And Add-Ins
You can play around with this recipe in a variety of ways to make it your own. Consider the following flavor variations:
- If you are not vegan, use whole milk to make it creamier. Of course, you can also use 2 percent, 1 percent, or skim milk. It will be less creamy and delicious.
- You can use your favorite sweetener to add sweetness, such as white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla sugar, maple syrup, agave, or golden syrup.
- Add a few drops of your preferred extract (vanilla, almond, or rum extract), fruit (sliced pineapple, mango, or strawberries), spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom), and caramel or chocolate sauce for more taste.
- You may add vanilla ice cream or frozen vanilla yogurt to Banana Milk to make it more decadent and dessert-like.
Recipe Notes and Tips
- Use an extremely ripe banana – the riper, the better! Bananas that are riper will be sweeter. If your bananas are turning black, make Banana Milk with them.
- I enjoy adding frozen bananas to my recipe because it gives them the texture and coldness of a milkshake. However, you can also use fresh bananas.
- Freeze extra bananas — freezing overripe bananas is a simple technique to ensure you always have the right banana for Banana Milk. In order to always have a banana on hand for my Banana Milk, I simply put the whole bananas into the freezer.
- Don’t expect banana milk to be as thick as a banana smoothie. The consistency is considerably more watery and milky.
- If you didn’t freeze your bananas, add 1/2 cup crushed ice.
- A high-powered blender will come in handy for blending this milk into a smooth liquid.
- Vanilla extract of high quality is recommended.
- For best results, use cold milk.
- Use less amount of almond milk for a thicker consistency. Use more milk for a thinner consistency.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What Is The Taste Of Banana Milk?
It tastes primarily like bananas but has the consistency and appearance of milk.
Can I Use Other Plant-Based Milk Instead OF Almond?
Yes. Instead of almond milk, you can use coconut milk, oat milk, soya milk, etc. Water can also be used.
How Long Will This Banana Milk Keep?
It’s best to consume it immediately, but leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days in airtight bottles/jars. Before serving, give the bottle a good shake to ensure that all ingredients are well combined.
Can I Use A Frozen Banana?
That’s exactly what I do. If you allow the frozen banana to thaw somewhat before preparing the Banana Milk, it will combine with the milk quickly (this is useful if you don’t have a high-powered blender).
Can You Make It Ahead Of Time?
Banana milk can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to use. However, it’s possible that it will separate, in which case you’ll need to mix or shake it before drinking.
What Color Bananas Are Best To Use?
Yellow bananas are best, but if you prefer a sweeter banana, get an overripe banana. As a banana ripens, its starch degrades and transforms into natural sugar. Try a green banana that hasn’t ripened yet if you want something with less sugar. All bananas are excellent; choose your favorite.
Who Invented Banana Milk Diet?
Harrop introduced the banana and skimmed-milk diet to help obese people shed pounds. In 1934, he reported his findings in the American Medical Association’s Journal. The diet suggested consuming six bananas and one thousand cubic centimeters (four glasses) of skim milk daily.
