Gluten-Free Granola
When you first start a gluten-free lifestyle, you don’t have to give up eating granola. Instead of purchasing store-bought, you can make your own tasty healthy granola recipe that is so easy to prepare.
Make sure you purchase rolled oats that have a label saying that the oats are certified gluten-free, and that they were handled in a facility without wheat.
What Is Granola?
Granola is a breakfast or snack food, made with rolled oats, sweetener, nuts, dried fruits, seeds, and spices, mixed together, spread on a cookie sheet and baked until crisp. Granola cereal is then cooled, stored in an airtight container and served alone as a snack, with non-dairy milk as a breakfast cereal.

How To Make Gluten-Free Granola?
My favorite way of preparing granola is to bake overnight in the oven at the lowest temperature in the oven. I find this slow baked method results in the best texture, but for the sake of convenience and time, I’m going to share a recipe that is faster.
- Preheat oven at 300 F°. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper, lightly grease or brush with oil, and set aside.
- Place oats, walnut, almond, flaxseed, and cardamom in a large bowl and mix well. In another bowl, mix maple syrup, orange juice, tahini, vanilla, and orange zest.
- Pour maple syrup mixture into oats mixture and mix until completely coated.
- Spread granola onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
- Bake granola until golden brown and crisp, about 30-40 minutes, turning half halfway.
- Remove baking sheet from oven and allow the granola to cool. Add raisins or cranberries and stir.

Granola Tips
- Substitute maple syrup with sugar or coconut sugar, place in a saucepan with orange juice and heat over medium-high and cook while stirring until sugar dissolves.
Ways To Serve Homemade Granola
- With non-dairy milk in a bowl.
- With coconut or soy yogurt.
