Air Fryer Cauliflower Hash Browns
Recently, I got an air-fryer, and I’m slowly making some of the reader’s favorite recipes in it. My Gluten-Free Vegan Cauliflower Hash Browns have been a readers’ favorite. I decided to make them in my air-fryer and they were a huge hit.
I’m crazy about cooking cauliflower. I have so many delicious cauliflower recipes for you to try, like my Cauliflower Nuggets, Jamaican Jerk Cauliflower, and Vegan Cauliflower Casserole.
Air Fryer Cauliflower Hash Browns
These air fryer hash browns are way more flavorful than storebought versions, and they are not loaded with extra ingredients that you can’t even pronounce. Cauliflower hash browns are so easy to make in the air fryer, but if you don’t have an air fryer then you can bake them in the oven.
They are healthy for you, since cauliflower is loaded with antioxidants, high in fiber, may aid in weight loss, and high in choline, which is an essential nutrient that many people are deficient in. (1, 2, 3, 4)
How Do You Make Cauliflower Hash Browns In An Air Fryer?
- Break the cauliflower into florets, place florets into a colander, and rinse under cold running water. Drain florets and loosely pat them with a clean cloth or paper towel to remove excess water.
- Place cauliflower in a food processor with the onion, and process until crumbly. You can also use a box grater to grate the cauliflower.
- Scoop cauliflower mixture into a bowl, and add chickpea flour, arrowroot, nutritional yeast flakes, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Mix the mixture together as you would do with a batter.
- Divide mixture into 6-8 equal portions. Shape mixture into flat rectangular disks with about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Place 3-4 at a time in your air fryer basket. Cook at 375 F° for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway. The time it takes to cook your hash browns depends on your air fryer. Mine took 25 minutes.
Serve hash browns for breakfast or brunch. It is delicious served with my Easy Scrambled Tofu Recipe.

Just made these in my airfryer. I had 1/4 of a potato hanging around, so added that to the cauliflower batter. Very delicious.
Fareeda, I’m so happy you enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing your adjustment and feedback
This looks very delicious and healthy.
Thank you very much.
Thank you for showing how to make this wonderful recipe
Sounds delicious! I wonder if this would work with defrosted cauliflower rice?
These are delicious! What a grreat idea! I don’t have an air fryer, so I baked these on a pan in the oven at 375F and it seemed to work perfectly.
One thing, though: How do you get such nice, firm patties? My mixture was pretty crumbly, and I had to kind of push each patty together on the pan. I wonder if I didn’t rice the cauliflower fine enough, or too fine, or maybe should have used a little more chickpea flour. Anyway, I will certainly persist and make this again! Thank you.
Chessie, I’m so happy they were delicious, I definitely pressed them together in my hands. You can always add more chickpea flour or process finer.
It got stuck to my air fryer, i had to pan fry them :( the consistency wasn’t good things fell apart, so i had to add more starch
It was a messy breakfast :D but it tasted good eventually
I’m sorry this happened Dimy, I’m going to add to the instruction to brush or spray the basket with oil to prevent sticking, Thank you for sharing your feedback.
How long do we cook it in the oven?
