This amazing Air-Fryer Fries recipe is so healthy and addictive. It is the perfect side dish for Vegan Oatmeal Burgers, Gluten-Free Vegan Sausages, or Chickpea Salad Sandwiches

It is important to have healthy and tasty vegan options for my favorite vegan dishes that are considered to be fast food.

This healthy air fryer fries recipe surely did not fail in the flavor department. They were so good,  crispy, and perfectly seasoned, enjoyed by everyone in my family and I even had to make another batch.

What Is An Air Fryer?

An air fryer is basically a countertop convection oven, it circulates hot air around the food at a high speed making the dish cook faster than it would when using a traditional oven.

I love stainless steel appliances so i chose this Air Fryer with a stainless steel basket. One this to note is that the basket is smaller than an oven or convection oven so you will have to cook in batches.

Does The Air Fryer Make Food Healthier?

Air fryers can cook food faster than the traditional oven method at a fraction of the time. It will leave a crispy texture using far less oil. So basically you are getting that fried texture and taste without the excess calories. So yes, an Air Fryer makes food healthier because you are basically cooking with air.

How To Make Air Fryer Fries?

To make these crispy air fryer fries:

  1. Preheat air fryer at 375 degrees F. Cut each potato into half then into quarters lengthwise. Cut each quarter into slices about 1/2 inch thick. Try to cut them in equal sizes for them to cook evenly.
  2. Place potatoes in a medium bowl, add cold water and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour to remove the excess starch.
  3. Drain potatoes, dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
  4. Place in a medium bowl, toss with olive oil to coat. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and salt to taste. Toss fries well to fully coat.
  5. Lightly spray the base of the basket of the air fryer. Arrange potatoes in the bottom of the basket in a single layer.
  6. Cook potatoes for 8 minutes then turn and cook for 5 minutes or until fries are crisp and golden brown.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips For Making Air Fryer Fries

  1. You can soak the cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes to an hour to remove some of the starch.
  2. Cook fries in a single layer and don’t crowd them tightly so that they can cook on all sides.
  3. Every air fryer model is different, I have two models and they cook at different timing so you have to watch your fries closely.
  4. Prepare your fries in batches to make sure the fries cook until crispy. If your fries are not crispy to your liking, cook for longer.

What Type Of Potato Should I Use For Air Fryer French Fries

My favorite potato is Yukon Gold but you can use traditional russet potato.
