Recently I made my own from scratch and they were delicious. I began thinking of recipes that use that I could make using graham crackers.
This graham cracker crust would taste great to fill with Vegan Strawberry Cream Pie, Coconut Lime Cheesecake and No-Bake Strawberry Ice Cream Cheesecake.
You can find store-bought Graham cracker crusts in the store but there is no comparison to making your own graham cracker crust recipe from scratch. Another option is to purchase the store-bought graham crackers crumbs, at least that will eliminate 1 step from the process of making it from scratch.
The only drawback is if you are on a gluten-free plan then it might be difficult to purchase pre-made crusts or crumbs.
Ingredients For Graham Cracker Pie Crust
- Graham Crackers
- Vegan Butter
- Maple Syrup
Make Graham Cracker Crust
To start, take about 12 sheets of graham crackers and place in a food processor. and process until crumbly. or you can put the graham crackers in a ziplock bag, close the bag and use a rolling pin to crumble until the crackers resemble breadcrumbs.
You should have approximately 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs, you might need to process more graham crackers.
Place the graham cracker crumbs in a medium bowl, add 4 tablespoons melted vegan butter and 2 tablespoons maple syrup and stir.
Press the crumbs evenly at the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Make sure to press the crumbs mixture hard enough to make it compact.
Now you graham cracker crust is ready you can add filling after chilling the crust for an hour or you can bake it in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Cool then add your filling and top with Coconut Whipped Cream.
