Many of the tastiest dishes begin with the letter D, despite their simple appearance. Here’s a list of certain delightfully easy foods that start with D!

Dabberlocks

Dabberlocks is an edible brownish algae that is a traditional food staple in several North Atlantic countries, including Greenland, Scotland Ireland and Iceland. It is also known as wing kelp, and its scientific term translates to “edible wings.” It can reach a length of 6-12 feet and is consumed raw or cooked. Dill is a common plant that grows like a weed and is used to flavor dishes. The seeds are often used to flavor pickled foods, while fresh dill fronds are used in salads and cooking. Dill is as aromatic as it is flavorful, yet drying drastically reduces both. However, drying does not affect the flavor of dill seed.

Ditalini

There are many different types of macaroni noodles, and Ditalini is shaped like a small tube, wider than Macaroni but shorter. Ditalini goes well with light dishes than substantial savory entrees when compared to other longer pasta noodles. It’s commonly served with soups due to its size compatibility with a soup spoon. Pasta salad is another popular dish, and it’s never dull because you can vary the ingredients and sauces to make a variety of Ditalini pasta salads.

Doubles

Doubles are a popular street dish in Tobago and Trinidad. It is commonly consumed for breakfast, but it is also for late-night snack and is a popular dish among Trinidadians. Two Baras are filled with Channa curry and several chutneys to make a Double.

These are filled grape leaves with rice and serve as a typical Mediterranean dish. Dolmas serves as part of a meze platter in Greece, which is a meal that consists of finger foods, salads, and dips.

Most are aware of this famous rind-shaped dish, which is often prepared in a variety of shapes before being fried. The dough is formed by combining flour, eggs, oil, sugar, and leavening agent with milk or water and kneading it into a dough. The dough is then cut into doughnuts, generally in circular or hole shapes. There are many vegan versions of yeast and cake donuts.

Dosa is a famous South Indian morning dish that resembles a pancake. It’s produced using a lentil and rice batter that’s been soaked for several hours, ground into a fine paste, and then fermented thoroughly. They are then placed in the shape of a thin pancake on a hot griddle and cooked thoroughly by putting some oil all over the crepe. Chutneys made with peanuts, or sesame go nicely with them. Use lentil batters, including green gramme, oats, and finger millets to make Dosa.

Dowdy is an old American dish that was popular during the 1800s. The term comes from the process of completing the recipe. After baking an apple-based filling in a crust-lined dish, break it into pieces that manage to stay crisp. And the inside is moist. The dowdy crust consumes a lot of the liquid as the dessert cools.

Draw soup

Draw Soup is a nutrient-dense Nigerian soup made with ogbono seeds, palm oil, and local seasonings. It has a lot of robust, deep flavors and is quite tasty. Draw soup is frequently served alongside fufu foods.

Dried apples are a delightful snack that’s simple to make. It has a lovely crunch and sweetness to it, making it ideal for serving early in the morning or afternoon when hunger strikes.

Drumsticks (vegetable)
