I absolutely love any good vegan soup recipes. They are so warm and comforting, perfect for the cooler weather. Honestly, I even love soup in the summer. In Jamaica, where the temperature rarely goes below 60℉, we still eat lots of soup traditionally. With the right ingredients, they can even be a filling dinner or side option.
Vegan Soup Recipes
I have a huge variety of vegan soup recipes. Some are traditionally American, Jamaican, or from other cultures, and some are just my own creations. I also have adaptations of traditionally non-vegan soups for us plant-based folk to satisfy that craving. So without further ado, let’s see these vegan soup recipes!
Vegan Broth
A good flavorful vegan broth is an essential ingredient in any savory vegan recipe. It is also easily made at home, with customizable flavors and sodium content.
The vegan broth is a critical ingredient in many vegan recipes. Although you can easily find pre-made ones in any grocery store, making vegetable broth at home has its benefits. Homemade vegetable broth is rich, flavorful, easy to make, and customizable.

Zucchini Soup

Whenever I make soup in my home my husband gets excited, he enjoys a warm comforting bowl of soup after a long day at work, even though it is hot here in Florida, a large pot of soup is seen as a welcome delight.
You see, we were both raised in hot Jamaica where soups were always prepared and enjoyed all year round.
Red Pea Soup
This hearty Red Peas Soup recipe is so flavorful and comforting and warming. It is perfect for chilly evenings. Red beans cooked in a flavorful herb-infused coconut broth with potato, carrots, yam, and dumplings.
This is my vegan and gluten-free version of Jamaican red peas soup. Red peas soup is traditionally cooked with salt beef, salted pig’s tail, or chicken feet. Like my Jamaican Stew Peas, this red pea soup has lots of flavors that you won’t even miss the meat.
To boost the flavor, I added 2 vegetable bouillon cubes, you can substitute with your favorite bouillon cube or chicken-style seasoning or leave it out and just flavor with salt.
Traditionally we add a Scotch bonnet pepper, this pepper can be found in West Indian supermarkets or you can substitute with cayenne pepper.

This Jamaican Pumpkin Soup is an adapted version of Jamaican style pumpkin soup without meat. Pumpkin soup was my family’s favorite when growing up, which my mom made weekly. Enjoy the taste of the Tropics with this delicious and easy to prepare soup! It is vegan and gluten-free.
My mom would always make pumpkin soup on a weekly basis, but she always added beef, yellow yam, chayote, and dumplings. I wanted that same delicious flavor sans beef so I made this tasty version. I get to taste the delicate and sweet flavors of the pumpkin and coconut along with the robust thyme.

After the Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities are over and we have gained a few extra pounds. I have the perfect solution to help us shed any unwanted extra weight! It is my very delicious Vegan/Vegetarian Cabbage Soup, especially perfect for those on the cabbage soup diet.

I grew up eating this soup quite frequently, especially around the Christmas holiday season because that’s when most of the gungo peas (pigeon peas or gandules were harvested. It was traditionally cooked with meat so I prepared a meat-free version here. I also included a gluten-free dumpling. This is where comfort food is at!

This Instant Pot Vegan Red Lentil Soup is so easy to prepare. It is hearty, comforting and so easy to prepare! Made with red lentils, carrots, onion, garlic, celery, herbs, and gluten-free pasta.
I love making soups for dinner when the weather is cold, I get to use up lots of vegetables and they are so warming and filling! Making soups in the electric pressure cooker makes like so much easier.
They are so easy to prepare and cook in minutes, other varieties are brown, green, yellow, and black lentils.
The pasta was added for a heartier soup, you can leave it out if you prefer.

Jamaican Pumpkin Soup
This flavorful Vegan Pumpkin Soup is an amazing Jamaican-style version, it has pumpkin, carrots, yellow yam, potato, Chocho (chayote), dumplings cooked it a creamy, velvety and spicy coconut broth is perfect for Fall.
This is the vegan version of Jamaican Pumpkin Chicken Soup, one of my childhood recipes that my mom made weekly when I was growing up. We traditional used Grace Cock Soup or similar prepackaged seasonings to flavor our soups in Jamaica but to create this vegan version, I used vegetable broth and coconut milk. You can make your own or use a store-bought version.
Potato Leek Carrot Soup
This warm, hearty and comforting Vegan Potato, Leek, Carrot Soup is so flavorful, savory and easy to prepare, its dairy-free and gluten-free. This Vegan Potato and Vegetable Soup is perfect for these cold winter months.

Substitute coconut milk with unsweetened soymilk.
